AdBlue

What is it?

AdBlue is a revolutionary additive (based on urea), which is odour-free and non-toxic. It is injected into the exhaust gas system of diesel vehicles (before the SCR catalytic converter).

What does it do?

It dramatically cuts nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel engine exhausts, transforming them into harmless nitrogen and water vapour. In addition, AdBlue cuts diesel consumption by 4 to 6%. (A 60-litre AdBlue tank lasts for 6,600 km).

Who can use it?

Vehicles need to be fitted with catalytic converters with SCR technology (selective catalytic reduction). This new technology complies with the new European standards Euro IV and Euro V that set out limits for nitrogen oxide emissions for vehicles over 3.5 tons. application/pdfSafety info file.
